Pre 1940 Signed Hand Painted Poppies Botanical Transferware Plate English Cottage canape plate is said to have begunVintage Crown Ducal hand painted botanical plate depicting pink and yellow Poppy flowers. The plate is artist signed R E Hague just below the leaves. The main pattern is transfer printed with highlights, accents, shading and color all hand painted by one of the English potteries finest, well known artists. The artist, Reuben Hague was born in 1880 and by the time he was just 13 years old he was apprenticed as a China painter at Royal Crown Derby. He
