99:1 reportage production99: 1 is inspired by novelist Raymond Queneaus 1947 book Exercises in Style, in which Queneau tells a simple story in 99 different ways. Arjan de Nooys version applies an analogous principle to a single photographic negative. more He took the picture in Paris in October 2007, with no special reason apart from the fact that it has a faint similarity with Queneaus story. It shows a bus and two young men who appear to be having a conversation about a
