Tiger Stripe, probably the most distinctive camouflage pattern, was originally developed for the South Vietnamese armed forces. Although it never officially became part of the US Army uniforms, it was allowed to be worn by the US special forces that were sent to Vietnam in the 1960s. Uniforms were made by local tailors.
