Georgian Carnelian, Pearl, Garnet and Topaz Maltese Cross Pendant Garnet With cabochon ruby eyes andGeorgian carnelian, natural pearl, garnet and topaz Maltese cross to a pearl set bezel. The reverse features a glazed hairwork compartment, mounted in gold. Circa 1830. The Maltese cross was first used in the 1500s, given to individuals who had demonstrated acts of valour and rescue.
