Victorian Stanhope Paris Binoculars pietra dura A fine example of theDATE: Victorian, c. 1890 Cool antique binoculars featuring two Stanhope micro photographs of Parisian landmarks. The Left eyepiece shows a small list of landmarks including La Bastille, L'Opera, Arc de Triomphe and Les Invalides. The right eyepiece shows an image of the Eifel Tower and the exterior is crafted in brass, wrapped in green hand painted snakeskin style leather. Stanhopes were created in 1851 by John Benjamin Dancer, using a process called
