Larry was sitting in his lifeguard tower when he first noticed kids skateboarding on homemade boards in the parking lots that lined the beach. He decided to manufacture a quality skateboard and tie it to the best surf spot in Hawaii Makaha Beach. Larry was also publisher of SurfGuide magazine, which ran the first skateboard ads, cartoons, and articles
